HEARNE HISTORY

A few of the many commendations received on the publication of the First Edition, Hearne History:

Rev. W. C. Hearne, D. D., Talledega, Ala., May 26, 1895.--- I have read the Hearne History with increasing interest, re-reading many parts. Surely it cost great labor and painstaking to arrange and publish such a book. While some families may feel no special interest in the book, I am nevertheless proud of my name, and take great pleasure in showing to my friends, not failing to tell by whom the labor was performed. "How in the world did he gather the material?", is the common exclaim of every one to whom I have shown the book. The family can never sufficiently compensate you for this family record.

From Miss Jennie Hearne, Keosauqua, Iowa, May 15, 1895.--- We are very pleased with the book and find it very interesting. The Baronial Castle and coat of arms are quite imposing. Altogether it is a wonderful work, and is certainly a treasure to every member of the large Hearne family. It certainly reflects great credit to yourself to so successfully carry out a cherished plan. But few would have had the charity, patience and means to have accomplished such a work.

From Jno. M. Wasson, Versailles, Ky.,---You certainly have accomplished a grand work for the family, for which we should feel grateful. I regard it as of priceless value, and am re-reading it with pleasure and profit.

Mrs. Rhoda Lee (Hearne) Cox, Bryan, Texas.---I have read the History with intense interest and delight. You have certainly done a wonderful work in getting up the book and deserve a medal for it. I know of nothing on earth I prize so much.

Mrs. Anna Dial Hearne, Austin, Tex.---I am greatly pleased with the History. It is freighted with matters of interest and importance, and the family can never be sufficiently grateful to you for what you have done. From the beginning to the end of the book are chronicles of greatest moment, and I for one thank you in my own name and in that of my children for having preserved through the years to come the name of Hearne.

From Edward W. Hearne, Oskaloosa, Iowa.---I want to congratulate you on completing so great a work. I have never seen so fine a monument to any family, and am very pleased to be even an humble member of it.
