Of these four children we have no further knowledge, except of Jacob, who settled near Snow Hill, Maryland. He was born about 1740, and married a Welch lady named Janet Gilderoy, to whom there were born seven children: Isaac, Jacob, Edward, Andrew, Elizabeth, Deborah, and Sarah. Jacob Hearne was born Oct. 8, 1770. His wife, Jane, born Oct. 5, 1779, was the daughter of Jeremiah and Sally Harrison, who lived near Harrisonburg, Virginia, and is of the same family as General William Henry Harrison. As soon as he had erected a comfortable hewed log-house, his father, Jacob Hearne, joined him with the rest of the family. There my father became acquainted with Miss Jane Harrison, whom he married on the 17 of Feb., 1796. She was the daughter of Jeremiah Harrison, who came from England and settled in Virginia near Harrisonburg, in Rockingham Co. His father located the town, he being one of the three brothers who stood for the rights of the Colonies; he married a Welch lady named Sarah Shipman, by whom he had three sons named Luke, Robert, and Davis, and one daughter, Jane. Jacob Hearne and Jane, his wife, had seven children, whose names were: Sarah, Lavisa, Harrison, Warren, Elizabeth, Melvina, and
