Nancy Ball Crawford writes: The sons of Alabama Hearn and George W. Ball were William B. and George David Ball (my Grandfather) not James D. as indicated. George married Addy Mae Flanders and they had four sons and two daughters before Georges death at age 48. William married and had two sons and a daughter.
Nancy Ball Crawford writes: Family lore has it that Alabama was a tough pioneer woman who, after her husband was shot in a field by a tenant, who was a confederate sympathizer, picked him up and placed him on a wagon and drove him to town where he died.
