Christopher C., son of David and Rachel Hearne, born Apr. 5, 1847; lives near Corinth, Miss. He married, first, 1866, Ara A. Hobbs, who died 1868, leaving one child, William. He married, second, Lucinda E. Ogle, 1870. Children: Ara C., born 1871; Effie M., born 1872; Edward, born 1874; John, born 1876; Bunie, born 1877; Muncy, born 1878; Mattie, born 1881; Officer, born 1883; Carl, born 1885; Goldie, born 1887; and Hubert, born 1890. C. C. Hearne enlisted in the Southern Army when seventeen years old, and was soon after captured, and from exposure while a prisoner contracted cold, which resulted in consumption.

Martha F., seventh child of David and Rachel Hearne, born 1849; married John F. Gault, and died 1885. She raised the three youngest children of her brother William Hearne, one of whom, Dollie, married W. C. Swoffer, and had one child, William, born 1885. Dinney Hearne, another daughter of William, married Colman Coal, and has two children, Decator Elenor and Mattie L.

Sarah A., eighth child of David and Rachel Hearne, born 1852; married 1877, H. C. Crenshaw, of Jackson Co., Mo., and died 1894.

Susan Alabama, ninth child of David and Rachel Hearne, born June 23, 1855; married 1872 Photo of Susan Alabama (Hearne) and George W. Ball , George W. Ball, in Izard Co., Ark., and has two sons, William B. and James D.[1] Photo of William B. and George W. Ball William B., born Dec. 25, 1872, and lives now in Kansas City, Mo., and is a bricklayer by trade. James D., born Feb. 5, 1875, also lives in Kansas City, and is a plumber by trade. The father, George W. Ball, was assassinated by a tenant on his farm Oct. 16, 1875,[2] and 1881 his widow married Charles Thomas, of Kansas City, Mo.; after his death she married Wallace Ford, 1892, and is now a widow again.

Lettie, daughter of Elisha Hearne, born 1808; married R. D. Higdon, and raised a large family, who now lives in Lincoln and Bienville Parishes, La. Children: T. H., Joseph, Mont, Dock, Elizabeth, and Savannah. Their postoffice is Vienna, La.

Thomas, son of Joshua Hearne, born about 1772; married Miss Bettie______, and had several children, whose names are now not known except Jesse. One son went to Texas, and one settled in the northern part of Georgia. Jesse; born Mar. 14, 1796, and died Dec. 14, 1848; he went from North Carolina to Trigg Co., Ga., 1815, to 1824; married Miss Lucity Johnson, who was born Feb. 19, 1796, and died 1863. Children: Amos J., born Aug. 7, 1824; William,

[1] Nancy Ball Crawford writes: The sons of Alabama Hearn and George W. Ball were William B. and George David Ball (my Grandfather) not James D. as indicated. George married Addy Mae Flanders and they had four sons and two daughters before Georges death at age 48. William married and had two sons and a daughter.

[2] Nancy Ball Crawford writes: Family lore has it that Alabama was a tough pioneer woman who, after her husband was shot in a field by a tenant, who was a confederate sympathizer, picked him up and placed him on a wagon and drove him to town where he died.
