Rev, William H. Hearne, of Rodentown, Alabama, says:
"My grandfather, William Hearne, was born in Randolph Co., North Carolina, and moved to Montgomery Co., 1812, and died 1868. He was a farmer and Baptist. My father, Stephen Hearne, lived in Montgomery Co., North Carolina, and had four sons, three of whom served through the Civil War in the Southern Army. One was killed in battle when the Southern Army made its raid into Maryland; one died soon after the close of the war, leaving a wife and two children; and the other is living in Winsona Co., Ala., farming. I was born in Montgomery Co.. North Carolina. 1852, and 1874 I married a daughter of Rev. Evander Fuller, of Richmond Co., North Carolina. and 1878 moved to Ala., where I worked at my trade, carpentering and farming. I have six chil- dren, five boys and one girl. Aug. 1883, I united with the Baptist Church, and 1891 I entered the ministry, and have since that time preached the gospel to the best of my ability."
The grandfather, William Hearne, is doubtless the son of Thomas and Nancy (Wilson) Hearne. (W. T. H.)
