Joshua son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Mayfield) Hearne, born in Franklin Co., Ga., Nov. 24, 1821 died June 12, 1875; married Leah Smart Dec. 17, 1843. lIe was a local preacher of the M. E. Church South. Children Emily A. burn Mar. 12, 1845 William Tally, born Apr. 28, 1851 Charlotte, born Oct. 20. 1855 Stephen A., born Feb. 1, 1858; Mary jane born July 6. 1860; Melvinia Clementine, born Feb. 20, 1865 James Caldwell, born Jan. 4, i868; John Lemon, born Aug. 16, 1870.

Emily A. born in Campbell Co., Ga., Mar. 12, 1845, married Coiwell Kidd, and has a large family.. She lives in Texas. Member of Missionary Baptist church. William Tally, son of Joshua and Leah ( Smart) Hearn. born in Campbell Co., Ga., Apr. 28. 1851. married a Miss Pool, who was born Nov. 30, 1858. William Tally Hearne lives in Atlanta, Ga., and is a cabinet maker, an honest, hard working man. His son Robert is also a cabinet maker and married a Miss Shell, and has two children. Lila married Wm. Petty, a hardware salesman, and has one child. a son. Ida Bell married Mr. Emmet Crowley and has one child,
