interest of every taxpayer will be protected. He will go into office unpledged for a single position and absolutely untrammeled. His hands are clean and no man can say that he has made arrangements not for the good of the county. We have no hesitancy in saying that he was the best and most available man and that the taxpayers have chosen wisely.

Judge Coffman is prosperous, and he and wife live in an elegant home, alone, having no children. They are members of Episcopal church, and he, of course, a Democrat.

Alice Cannon Hearne, daughter of F. P. Sr., born Sept. 30, 1872, married C. E. Engle, who is in business with the Hearne Timber Co., St. Louis. Children: Raymond Russell, born Oct. 19, 1897, and Hugh Hearne, born Feb. 4, 1906. They are members of the Disciples church. Sussie Snell Hearne lives with her mother in St. Louis and has a desirable position at a fine salary.

Harold Hays Hearne, son of F. P., Sr., when sixteen years of age enlisted in U. S. navy for a five-year term, which he completed June, 1906, having during the time been around the world and gained a rich and valuable experience.

Cannon Clement, the youngest child of Frank P. Hearne, Sr., is with his mother in St. Louis, completing his education.

JONATHAN DAVID HEARNE, son of Cannon and Sally, born July 7, 1829, married Mar. 16, 1852, Miss Emily Duke Meyers of Garrard Co., Ky. Children: Carrie, born Apr. 20, 1853, died Mar. 17, 1854; Nannie Morehead, born July 17, 1855; Mattie, born 1858; Sarah Owen, born 1863; Cannon, born May 13, 1865, died Oct. 6, 1879; Duke Myers, born Mar. 27, 1867, died July 1, 1867; Nannie M.,married 1890, Thomas H. Silver, a banker at Wellsville, O., a widower with two children. The wife Nannie M., died Aug. 10, 1892. Mattie, daughter of J. D. Hearne, married Edward S. Ebbert, 1880, and has no children. Mr. Ebbert is in business in Cincinnati, O., the firm name being the Ebbert-Richardson Co., Printers and Engravers, Fifth and Sycamore Sts. Sara O., the youngest daughter, married Apr. 16, 1901, Charles C. Chase, who was at the time in the employ of the Pullman Car Co., in Cincinnati, O. He was a widower with two children. He and his wife Sara occupy the old home of J. D. Hearne, 500 Garrard St., Covington, Ky., and have one child, Emily, born 1904. Mr. Chase is not in business now. He was a member of the Dutch Reformed church and after
