eloquent eulogy of Mr. Settle touched every one, and when he ceased speaking there was not a clear eye in the audience. He said that he little expected to ever be called upon to speak in memory of Evan Settle, who was younger by far than he. Senator Lindsay paid a splendid tribute to Mr. Settle's record in Congress, and Mr. Blackburn spoke feelingly of his departed friend.

Senator Goebel was the last to speak. He and Mr. Settle had entered the Legislature of Kentucky at the same time, and in reference to the friendship which then began and which had lasted till his death, he was overcome with emotion and ended by asking God's blessings on him and his.

The remains were interred in Odd Fellows' cemetery near Owenton.

The floral designs were numerous and expensive. A large chair of rare flowers was presented by the Owenton bar.

The pall-bearers were J. H. Cunningham, E. E. Lee, H. G. Botts, W. D. Beck, D. H. Gayle, B. J. Newlon, of Owenton, and Senator Goebel and ex-Senator Blackburn.

Forsee, born Feb., 25, 1855, married Anna Crabb, Mar. 6, 1889. George William, son of Virginia and James S. Forsee, born Dec. 25. 1856, married Mollie Montague, Oct. 5, 1881. Children: Ira Lee, born July 21, 1882 ,and William Thomas, born Apr. 28, 1889. Ira Lee married Stella Kenney, Sept. 24, 1902. Seventh child of Elijah and Margaret Hearn Threlkeld, Nannie, born Apr. 13, 183q married R. H. Yancey, Dec. 6, 1860, had two children: Dixie, born Dec. 15, 1861, and Lewella, born Mar. 6, 1866. Dixie married Mildred Forsee; children: Newell, born Jany. 24, 1891 ; Mary Louella, born Oct. 18, 1901. and Mildred, born May 16, 1905, and had one child, Newel. Eunice, eighth child of Elijah and Margaret Hearn Threlkeld, born June 27, 1841, married Craig, and had one child, Frank, born Oct. 11, 1876, and married Mary Halbrook, June 19, 1901.
