children. Old Aunt Rhoda (Hearne) Cox says Mrs. Anna (Dial) Hearne is the brightest woman she ever knew. The second son William has now entered the University of Texas as a law student and the third Leonard is in the high school at Austin.
William G. Hearne married a Miss Vaughn of Fort Worth, Texas, Mar 5, 1896, and immediately went to Wharton, Texas, where he has located for the practice of law, with flattering prospects. The wedding was a brilliant affair, and took place in the First Baptist Church, of which the bride's family are members, the ceremony being performed by the eminent and greatly beloved pastor, J. Morgan Wells, since deceased. Wm. Hearne since has located in New York City.
Mary, daughter of Ebenezer and Minerva Hearne, born May 12, 1841, died Oct. 1879. Married Lem. Borton and left one child, Irene, born Feby., 1867, she married Platt Ferguson, a banker, in Waco, Texas. Mittie, daughter of Ebebezer and Minerva Hearne, born Oct. 7, 1846, died Jan. 1, 1883; married Jacob L. Leonard, who lived in Dallas, Tex., and died in 1884. They left a son, William Walker, born Dec, 1870, and he is now living in New York City. Phena, daughter of Ebebezer and Minerva Hearne, born 1848; married Frank Dunklin; they are both dead, and left two children: Annie, born 1872, married Clarence McQueen, of Dallas, Texas; and Hearne, born 1874. Ida, daughter of Ebenezer and Minerva Hearne, born 1861 and lives in Dallas, Texas, and has not married.
HORATIO R., son of William and Nancy (Miles) Hearne, born Nov. 27, 1818; married his cousin Priscilla Hearne, who was born June 3, 1820, and died Oct. 21, 1893. He lives in the country near the town of Hearne, Texas, and owns a large plantation of very rich land, with a fine house and natural gas in it. They have had nine children, only two of whom are living: Alabama H. born Oct. 16, 1846, married Samuel J. Adams, who was born in Georgia Apr. 14, 1837; he was a banker in Dallas, Texas, and died1889; Mrs. Adams lives in Dallas and has three children: Horatio Hearne, born Mar. 14, 1872; Samuel J., born Oct. 18, 1874; and Hearne Oliver, born Apr. 6, 1883. Bettie Warren, daughter of Horatio R. and Priscilla Hearne, born Dec. 22, 1854; married Judge George Nathan Aldredge, who was born Apr. 14, 1846.
