GRANDERSON TURNER, son of Ebenezer and Betsy (Turner) Hearne, was born in Wilson Co., Tenn., Mar. 11, 1830. He received a fair English education in the schools of his county and is a member of the Methodist Church South. In the Civil War he served under Joe Wheeler, Forest, and Wade Hampton having enlisted in Stearne's cavalry regiment. He was originally a Whig, but is now a staunch Democrat. During his military service he met, in Maury Co., Tenn., Miss Lizzie Thomas. a most estimable and cultured lady. His admiration for her was so great that as soon as he was liberated from the service he renewed his acquaintance with her, and in the latter part 1865 they were married. To them have been born two children Minnie and Missie. The family were too firmly united, however, in the bonds of love, and their mutual duties were too highly respected. for this ecclesiastical difference to in the least interfere with the harmony and peace of the family. Minnie was happily married to a Mr. Gillespie, and died, leaving a little girl. The mother has since died. They have gone to their reward.
Granderson T. Hearne, Franklin, Tenn., asks the following corrections in his genealogy on the family tree.
