Elder. He was an able and useful man and his ministry was attended wit great success. His wife died Oct. 14, 1858, and he died in Montgomery, Ala., Dec. 24, 1862, and they were buried at Camden, Ala., which was at one time their home. Children: Jane, Caroline, Mary C., Robert W., Joseph T., and Martha D. Jane, born 1825, married Rev. A. C. Ramsey, Gladsden, Ala. Robert W., born 1833, married Jennie Barksdale, and went to San Antonio, Tex., and have one child, Robert. Joseph T., born 1837, was a Captain in Confederate army, and died in Texas 1864. Nancy, daughter of Thomas and Rachel Drewry Hearne, married Joseph Moxley. Children: Joseph, James and Kate. Brunetta married Asa Andrews. Children: Nancy, Betsy, Purnell, Martha, William, Rolland, Huston and Ebenezer of Lebanon, Tenn. Wm. R., son of Thomas and Rachel Hearne, borne 1792, died 1852. Married Elizabeth Dixon. Children: Rosine M., Margaret V., Emeline W., Wm. Croghan and Francis M. He lived and died at Tuscaloosa, Ala. Rosine M. married John Newton, who lives in Jersey City, N. J., and they have one son, John H., who wrote me 1894 and says:

My mother, Rosine Milford Hearne, born in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Sept. 22, 1817, died in Jersey City, N. J., Nov. 11, 1891, Elvin Simpson Hearne, born May 7, 1819, Murfreesboro, Tenn. Margaret Vandergrift Hearne, born July 11, 1821, Tuscaloosa, Ala. Emeline Wilson Hearne, born Oct. 18, 1823, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; she is the mother of Mrs. I. E. Shumate, Dalton, Ga. Francis Marion Hearne, born Mar. 18, 1826, Tuscaloosa, Ala. William Croghan Hearne, born Jan. 23, 1829, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; he is now at Talladega, Ala. These are all the children of Wm. and Elizabeth Dickson Hearne, and I have copied the dates from the old family Bible, My family (wife, self and two children) are members of the Reformed Church, formerly Dutch Reformed.

Mar. 28, 1892, R. W. Andrews, Newmann, Ga., says:

I am the grandson of Asa Andrews, whose wife was Brunetta Hearne (whom you have as Nector Hearne on the family tree). My father's name was Rowland G. Andrews, of Wilson Co., Tenn. My wife is a daughter of Whitson P. Hearne, and his parents were Ebenezer and Elizabeth Hearne. All this branch of the Hearne family moved from Rowan Co., N. C., to Wilson Co., Tenn., 1800
