James P., born June 23, 1867. Second child of Lowder N. and Jane Hearne, Julia Emma, born Feb. 28, 1846, married Wm. Tam. Children: John Lowder, born July 5, 1865, married Margaret Taylor; Edward B., born Aug. 29, 1869: Wilbur N., born May 24, 1871; Charles H., born July 19, 1881. Mrs. Emma Tam lives in Georgetown, Del. Her children are all dead but Edward B., who now lives with her, having just returned from a fourteen years' stay in Alaska.
Edward Tam farmed several years in Delaware and 1888 went to Des Moines, Ia., where he studied medicine and graduated 1891, then went to Willard, Kan., and practiced successfully till his death Sept. 8, 1898. The son, John Lowder Tam, graduated in medicine from the University of Pennsylvania 1888, and practiced one year in Vernon, Tex., and went to Butte. Mont., and 1890 went to Europe in the interest of a mining company, returning in three months; 1893 went to Alaska to practice his profession, and 1899 returned to Delaware, and Mar., 1900, started back to Alasaka, and died in Seattle, March 22. The son, Dr. Wilbur Tam, also went to Butte, Mont., engaged in mining some years and went to Alaska, and while out prospecting was caught in a blizzard and froze to death. The son, Charles, died at the age of eighteen years. John Lowder Dale is a machinist, married Eva E. Aydelotte Dec. 18, 1901. Children: Katheryne Lenox, born Oct. 16, 1902, and Ada Elizabeth, born Oct. 23, 1903. James P. Dale is a merchant and married Florence E. Whaley Nov. 28, 1894. Children: Mary and Virginia (twins), born Oct. 8, 1895; Elizabeth Whaley. born Dec. 7, 1898, and James Phillips, born Mar. 4. 1906, Mr. Dale, the father, died 1906.
ANNIE C., daughter of Lowder N. and Jane Hearne, born Nov. 18, 1852, married Dr. James T. Thompson, a practicing physician. Thev lived in Philadelphia many years and kept the Delaware Hotel at Second and Pine Streets. The Doctor's health became poor and they removed to and now live at Lewis. a sea shore resort in Sussex Co., Del., where the doctor has a large practice and has been Mayor of the town the past eight years. He was a member of the Delaware Legislature 1873. Dr. and Mrs. Thompson have but one child living, Jennie Pearl, born Feb. 19, 1872, married James A. Aull, Jr. They have two children. James
