Myself and wife are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. My oldest son. Benjamin S.. born May 4, 1858, married Amanda Downs, and is now living in North Carolina, engaged in the lumber business and doing well. My son Levin T.. born May 6, 1860, married Vanna Powel. My next child, Hester E., born Jan. 28, 1862. married George T. White of Delmar Del, My next child. William A.. born Oct. 20. 1865, married Martha Legates. My next child, James A., born Jan. 1, 1870. is unmarried and is working for his brother Ben, S. in North Carolina, My next child Clarence H.. born Mar. 16, 1872. and the next. Alexander, born Aug. 31, 1874, are both at home. My next child Dalla F., born Mar. 28. 1877, married Mr. Fred Farlow and resides near Whitesville, Del, My youngest child, Lou E., born May 30, 1881, is at home. I am a farmer, living near Whitesville, Del. Isaac T. Hearne died Jan. 5, 1896.

EBENEZER. youngest son of Ebenezer and Priscilla (Fooks) Hearne born at the Ebenezer Hearne homestead, Sussex Co., Del., Mar. 22. 1774, died 1841. He lived all his life in the neighborhood where lie was born: was a large, raw-boned man, a sturdy farmer, successful in business, and a devoted member of the Episcopal Church. In early life he married Betsy Roach. Children: Sally; Jeddy, died in 1836.; Theodore B., born 1806; Matilda B., born Jan. 11, 18o8: Mary, Nancy, Elizabeth; Lowder N.. born May 16, 1817, died June, 1863, at Gumboro, Del.

Sally, first child, married Peter Powell and had one child, Mattie, who married Wm. Larfield, and they have several children living near Parsonsburg. Md.

Matilda C.. daughter of Ebenezer and Betsy (Roach) Hearne, born Jan. 11, 1808, died Aug., 1887; married William Tyre 1830 or '31; he died May, 1848, aged about forty-five years. They had two children, Eben Hearne anci James Hopkins. Eben Hearne Tyre, born July 1 1, 1832. married Jan. 23. 1860, Miranda Wise Layton, who was born Oct. 7, 1841. Children: Wm. Staten, born Jan. 14, 1861; Louise Elizabeth, born July i6, 1862; Ebenezer Franklin,
