Dr. Horace L. Jones, Concord, Del., Says:

Coming from a family rather noted for longevity, my grandmother has proven no exception to the rule; her life has been remarkable for its activity, and at the age of seventy-five years her mental powers are unimpaired. She was born June 12, 1819, the daughter of Thomas and Sally (Hearne) Fooks. Her name was Sally, and married, first, Capt. Wm. James, and then Thomas Jones Sr.

My mother, Lucinda, daughter of Capt. Wm. and Sally (Fooks) James, married Mar. 31, 1858, Thomas A. Jones, Junior (a son by a former marriage of Thomas A. Jones, senior), children: Horace L., born Feb. 18, 1859; Helen J., born July 6, 1860; Howard P., born May 9, 1862; George A., born May 15, 1864; Effie V., born Feb. 21, 1867; William H., born Jan. 20, 1869; Laura F., born Feb. 27, 1871; Ada C., born Aug. 26, 1875; Maude R., born Apr. 6., 1878; and Nellie F., born June 1, 1882.

My parents lived in Delaware from their birth, until five years ago, when the lack of educational advantages in their immediate neighborhood necessitated their removal and they are now living on a farm near Denton, Md. Only two of my brothers and sisters are married. Howard, who lives in Denton, is a contractor; my sister, Helen, married Lambert Watson and lives near Laurel, Del. My father has always been a farmer. My brother, George is a merchant in Philadelphia, my brother William is a farmer, and am myself a physician by profession.
