WILLIAM, the youngest son of Samuel and Rhoda (Parker) Hearne, born Sept. 30, 1785; removed first from Maryland to Georgia, and then to Lauderdale Co., Alabama, and died there Nov. 12, 1843; his descendants are numerous, many of whom live in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Texas. He married 1812. His wife’s name was Elizabeth Presnall; children: Elijah, born Mar. 5, 1813, died Nov. 5, 1855; Sarah, born Feb. 23, 1815; Lucy, born Feb. 16, 1817; George, born Feb. 27, 1819; Martha, born April 6, 1821; James, born April 16, 1823; Nancy, born Aug. 17, 1826; Celia, born Feb. 3, 1830; Elizabeth, born Mar. 26, 1832; Jasper, born Mar. 3, 1834; Newton, born July 19, 1836. One of the girls married a Mr. Bryant, who lives at Riesel, McClennan Co., Texas.

ELIJAH, son of William and Elizabeth (Presnal) Hearne, married, first, Miss Amelia Grear, of Marengo Co., Alabama, and they had one son, Warren F., born April 27, 1840, married Miss Jane Nicols, of Marengo Co., Ala., and had three children: Annie Amelia, born Dec. 2, 1858; married Thomas W. Kuse, and lives at Lyon, Burleson Co., Texas. Johnny Dayse, born Feb. 9, 1862, married Miss Amanda Wicker Feb. 13, 1889; children: 1894. Dovie, aged five years; Waldine, aged three years; and Jackson Berry, aged ten months. Johnny D. Hearne lives near Gatesville, Texas, is a farmer and stockman, as is his brother Warren F., and his father was also, and all who are church members are Baptists, as the familv all have been for a long time past. Warren F., born May 11, 1864; married Miss Sallie Jenkins, Nov. 6, 1882; two children, Frank and John, and lives near Lancaster, Dallas Co., Texas. Warren F. Hearne, senior, went into the Confederate army in 1861, and was killed near the close of the war.

Elijah Hearne married, the second time, Miss Mary Jarman, who was from. North Carolina, and she died in 1862. Their children were: Emanuel Berry (born Nov. 5, 1845) Photo of Emanuel Berry Hearne on page 82., Frances Louisa, Mary Catherine ,Mary Ann and William Thomas (born Dec. 23, 1853). Emanuel B. married Martha Virginia Bragg Jan. 1, 1868, in Lauderdale Co., Miss.; they now reside in Sumter Co., Ala.; postoffice, Gaston. Children: Hannah Alma, born Jan. 1, 1869; Lillie Mary, born, Oct. 1, 1870; Robert Lee, born April 26, 1872; William Thomas, born Feb. 4, 1874; Meady Elijah, born Aug. 17, 1875; Branch Knott, born Mar. 10, 1877; Leona Dunham, born Jan. 11, 1879; Mary Virginia, born Aug. 26, 1881; George Bragg,
