Favorite Parts
There are some of my favorite parts of Hearne's book.
The Introduction
I like the introduction because
it explains why
Hearne wrote the book. Hearne makes great
mention of the religious and political views of many family members.
At first, I assumed Hearne was biased. But in the introduction Hearne
explains he writes to convince future generations of their noble heritage,
hoping to spur them on to greater things. It becomes clear
that Hearne uses political views and religion as evidence that the people
he talks about are great people. Read with this in mind, Hearne's
statements are very positive.
The Last Exhortation of Jacob S. Hearne
Jacob S. Hearne leaves some final
words about preparing to meet God.
