Roots Web World Connect - Huge search site. Volunteer information. Free.
Roots Web - Granddaddy free genealogy site. Searching, mailings, lots of good stuff.
GenForum - Does a general search over several databases.

Roots Web - Large volunteer compilation of transcribed records. Censuses, wills, marriage records. Hit or miss, right now. Great location search.
Barrel of Links - Great set of quality genealogy links. Not especially well organized, but carefully selected.
Truly Searchable Sites - Another set of quality links.
